Summer is here.
Around our house summer means late afternoon exercising, trips to someone’s pool, and usually waiting til sometime after 8PM to eat.
It also means vacation time. We took a family road trip to South Carolina, North Carolina and Kentucky for 9 days around Memorial Day. We had fun! Saw friends and family we hadn’t seen in a long time.
But it was sure hard on the blogging, at least for me.
The past couple of weeks have been a real challenge in keeping up my aggressive writing schedule. I have had a very workable (for me) schedule for the past 5 months, but for some reason these weeks have been hard.
Did I mention we were gone? And in being gone I discovered that when routine is broken, writing schedules don’t get followed.
So, I’ve made a decision.
For the summer months, I’m moving to my official Summer Blogging Schedule. Look for regular posts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I may write on Tuesdays and Thursdays if I am smacked by a sudden burst of inspiration, but otherwise I am staying focused for 3 times a week.
I’ll give you a heads up that coming on June 29th I will be having a guest post published on a major league blogger, one with over 200,000 subscribers, a PR of 5, and a growing platform. I am stoked about this opportunity and blessed greatly.
What about you? Does summer impact your normal routines and schedules? How do you handle it?

Oh my goodness…I agree with you. I am still trying to find my summer groove!
I completely understand. It takes a lot out of you to stick to an intense writing schedule when everything that you are used to having freely available (including quiet time and certain resources) is gone or at least more scarce.
This weekend was very productive in terms of writing and managing the blog. I think my problem in the last two weeks has been due to what we were doing on those two Saturdays. Saturday mornings, usually before 8, are really important to my “system” it would seem.
Well, I get more work during the summertime since that’s when people usually decide to do home projects. So my schedule picks up, but my blogging schedule is forgiving enough that I don’t think readers will notice. WHich is good.
Summer IS the time for vacations and fun and family and staying up late because it stays light for so long. So I think it’s great that you’re going to decrease the amount you blog for a coupel months… family is more important!
Different schedules aren’t bad, are they? Just different.
